Join Senator Dick Durbin, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, and hundreds of immigrants rights leaders from around the country for New Americans Democracy Day, a national celebration of Immigrant Voting Power!
Saturday, June 28th marks the national kick-off event for both the Illinois Coalition's New Americans Vote 2008 Campaign and the national Get Out The Vote Campaigns of the immigrant rights movement. The Illinois campaign will register 20,000 immigrants to vote and turn out 60,000 unlikely voters to the polls in November. The day also launches the start of the New Americans Democracy Project Bootcamp, where 60 young people, hailing from Colorado to Massachusetts, will be trained on how to do the on-the-ground work to ensure we can turn out the immigrant vote in November.

Join elected officials, immigrant leaders from 17 states, and national immigrant leaders like:

There will be entertainment by Sol de Oro Mariachi band, and the Il Kwa Nori Korean drumming troupe.
