Every year more than half a million immigrants make the ultimate commitment to their new home country by becoming US citizens. In pursuing citizenship, these immigrants learn English and US history, show their good moral character, and demonstrate their attachment to our country and our democratic government. Unfortunately, the citizenship process is becoming increasingly difficult, with higher fees, longer waits, and more difficult testing to contend with. Still, the right to vote and the full membership that comes with citizenship will continue to motivate immigrants to naturalize. ICIRR works with immigrants to help them move through the citizenship process.
