Confident that the integration of newcomers will be essential to the success of their cities, towns, and the nation as a whole, elected officials and leaders from twenty states convened in Chicago on October 30th-31st. The group shared best practices, discussed ways to reframe the national debate on immigration, and forged effective integration strategies. By the end of the two-day conference, the group called for the creation of the first National Network on Immigrant Integration to define common strategies and make sure that they are enacted.
