Catherine has been the communications coordinator at ICIRR since February 2006. She started at the coalition short before the first massive immigrant rights rally of March 10, 2006. Since then, she has been working intensively in making sure that the voice and stories of immigrants are heard. Along with senior staff and member organizations, she has worked in creating, developing and implementing media strategy to bring attention to issues that concern the immigrant communities of Illinois. She is a board member at the Alliance of Latinos and Jews, serves on the media committee of the Catholic Campaign of Human Development at the Archdiocese of Chicago and is a member of the Rights Working Group Communication Task Force.

Catherine was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador. Before working at ICIRR she worked in the communications field as a producer for TV commercials, TV programs, and theater. She has two Associate degrees, one in TV Production and another one in Multimedia Arts. She has a bachelor's degree in Communication from Loyola University Chicago.
